It takes a lot for me to give a 5 star rating. From the very beginning I was impressed with the fluid and lyrical writing style. The author is a natural storyteller. I was also impressed with the sensitivity and morality of the central characters. This book would be an excellent choice for older children, instructive but not preachy. At the same time, important issues are addressed. This novel is an entertaining read, appealing to readers of all ages, particularly those who love animals. I look forward to more adventures with Sir Happy Heart and Mister MarmeeProduct details

Love this story about Mister Marmee and Sir Happy. Wonderful for adults or children. Great for those who love mysteries and crime solving.
This mystery is a delightful read, with gentle insight into the inner world
of wise creatures. Besides the step by step analysis of the crime, the
reader also feels part of the solution because there are enough hints and clues
to allow the imagination of the reader to intuit what might be the outcome.
The insights into human nature and the wisdom on human relations and behaviors
are enjoyable and apt. The book is a very good old-fashioned fiction read with
contemporary savvy. A satisfying experience!
This series is my 15-year-old son's favorite books of all time. )
If you love animals and mysteries, this the book for you. A very well written story that will keep your interest all the way through the book. I am also a lover of older English novels. This story hit all my buttons.
This book is so amazing!!! I love the use of past English language. The vocabulary elevates the level of the book to adult literature but young adults would also enjoy the concept of the book. There are many thrilling adventures as well as loving gatherings. The book is exciting as well as caring. I feel every emotion the book depicts!!!
With the Victorian feel of a Sherlock Holmes mystery and the perspective of Mr. Marmee, a delightful feline and the Detective skills of Mr. Happy, a wise and Loyal Dachshund with plenty of spirit and pluck this page turner was a delight. I could not put it down and did not want it to end. That to me is the best way for a story to be.I loved it and it will stay on my to read again and again.
